Friends of The Riverfront will host its second public presentation about the upcoming Ballot Proposal 2020-2.  Hosted in the Carnegie Room at the Library.

The proposed expansion adds 1500 square feet to Mahan Park and fills in the final stretch of land along the boardwalk. The final design will be developed in consultation with the community and the city council, and it is the developer’s aim to maintain and refurbish important features, such as the gazebo and the memorial wall with all the names of the original contributors of Mahan Park, ensuring that it lasts for decades to come. This relocation and update will allow the park to become handicap accessible and add public restrooms and additional parking. Along the boardwalk, early designs include a green space for picnics, memorials, or public art, as well as seating for visitors to view the river, special events, fireworks, or just to relax.
