What better way to kick off the summer than to run a beautiful route in the one of a kind city of Allegan.  The first ever Red Turtle Runs are a special event designed to bring people together to enjoy the views of Allegan as well as our wonderful State Game Area.  The name of the runs comes from the Eastern Red Box Turtle that is becoming highly endangered that was seen on a training run on one of the trails in the state game area.  The turtle was seen collecting some sun in the middle of the trail and moved at, what we like to call, “race pace” to get away.

5k and 10k runs will take place downtown starting and finishing on the Allegan Riverfront. The courses will provide a few hills but nothing that is too challenging. Upon finishing, Bridgefest will be happening with activities for all ages.  Proceeds from this run will be donated to MEMBA for trail maintenance in the Allegan State Game Area. Make sure to register by May 20th to ensure you get a shirt.
