DESCRIPTION:Living without heat is a dangerous reality for many Michigan residents facing utility shut-offs. Choosing between paying the heat bill and buying groceries is a choice no one should have to make. According to Michigan 2-1-1\, utility assistance is the number one requested need (29.9%) from callers looking for community resources in Allegan County. \nMoney raised from walker registration and sponsorship support will go directly to Community Action of Allegan County’s Utility Assistance Program. The program assists income eligible households by providing payment for metered and deliverable fuel bills in order to avert a household crisis. Last year alone\, CAAC helped 177 families prevent power shut off notices. \nWe invite you to help us raise money to assist Allegan County residents in keeping the heat on in their homes. Fundraising efforts will start now through the event that takes place on Saturday\, March 26th\, 2022 from 9am-11am at the LYNX Golf Course in Otsego (900 Lincoln Road Otsego\, MI 49078). Lets raise some more for our community! We hope to see you there!

DESCRIPTION:Since 1985\, April has been recognized as National Child Abuse Awareness Month. During this month\, and every month\, we encourage people to help us spread awareness by planting pinwheels in Allegan County and the surrounding areas.  Pinwheels are used as the national symbol of child abuse prevention.  They represent a hopeful\, happy and carefree childhood . For this reason\, organizations across the nation and Safe Harbor host Pinwheel Gardens to raise awareness. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nYou Can Help Prevent Child Abuse\, Join Us On April 1st!\n\n\n\n\nSAFE HARBOR’S PINWHEEL GARDEN:\nApril is Child Abuse Prevention Month. Please join Safe Harbor at our annual Pinwheel Garden Event where we will be planting “Pinwheels for Prevention” to increase awareness of child abuse and neglect in our community.
