DESCRIPTION:You’re invited to the second annual Earth Day Clean-Up downtown Allegan! \nCheck-In will be at The Sassy Olive at 10 AM.Each volunteer will receive a goodie bag including gloves\, trash bags\, hand sanitizer and some other goodies from participating downtown Allegan businesses. \nActivities include self-guided trash and debris pick up\, which will be getting recycled thanks to Broken Arrow Recycling! \nActivities also include disc golf course maintenance with John Clark (Flying Tigers of Allegan DGC)\, and magnet fishing on the riverfront boardwalk with Broken Arrow Recycling. \nEach participant will receive a tree to take home and plant at the end of the cleanup. \nPlease report back to The Sassy Olive at 3 PM for a group photo. \nWe can’t wait to make a difference with the members of our community!

Everything you need is provided in the cost of your ticket.\nYou will get to choose a sixteen ounce Cheerful Giver Candle that has an eighty hour burn time with a double wick. From there instruction will be demonstrated and given as the class goes step by step to prepare and design your long lasting floral design on the top. Coordinating flowers and ribbon along with a butterfly or bird accent will complete the design. Constructive critique will be given if asked for only as this will be a fun time to relax and play with flowers.\n\nPlease bring questions if you have any about flowers and let’s get them answered.\nLight refreshments will be served and all attendees will receive 20% off any one item purchased from gifts\, not including Sympathy\, directly following class.

SUMMARY:Red Turtle Run
DESCRIPTION:What better way to kick off the summer than to run a beautiful route in the one of a kind city of Allegan.  The first ever Red Turtle Runs are a special event designed to bring people together to enjoy the views of Allegan as well as our wonderful State Game Area.  The name of the runs comes from the Eastern Red Box Turtle that is becoming highly endangered that was seen on a training run on one of the trails in the state game area.  The turtle was seen collecting some sun in the middle of the trail and moved at\, what we like to call\, “race pace” to get away. \n5k and 10k runs will take place downtown starting and finishing on the Allegan Riverfront. The courses will provide a few hills but nothing that is too challenging. Upon finishing\, Bridgefest will be happening with activities for all ages.  Proceeds from this run will be donated to MEMBA for trail maintenance in the Allegan State Game Area. Make sure to register by May 20th to ensure you get a shirt.
