DESCRIPTION:With the shared mission of providing reliable and timely information\, as well as representing the well-being of our community and local economy\, the Allegan District Library\, in partnership with the Allegan Area Chamber of Commerce and the Allegan County News\, will host a formal question-and-answer forum in advance of the November 5th election of City Council members. \nThis is your opportunity to meet the candidates\, learn about their positions on relevant issues\, and to measure their demeanor and competence when addressing those issues in public.  The forum will include introductions and opening position statements followed by the delivery of prepared and audience questions.  Each candidate will be permitted to answer or decline each of the questions.  The event will follow a forum protocol and is not a debate.  The forum will be streamed to Facebook Live.  Like the City Council roles\, the forum will be strictly independent of sectarian affiliation\, will be non-partisan\, and non-denominational in its approach to the question and answers. \nTo submit a question for consideration in advance of the forum\, email it to Library Director Ryan Deery at rdeery@alleganlibrary.org. Please be aware that time constraints and other factors will determine which and how many audience questions are utilized.

DESCRIPTION:Allegan Fire District is proud to host our 3rd Annual Pancake Breakfast August 24th from 7am-11am at Allegan Fire District Station #1.  We will be serving our delicious pancakes with or without blueberries\, our amazing breakfast sausage links\, scrambled eggs\, and cubed breakfast potatoes.  Don’t forget coffee\, juice\, milk\, and water and the best part is a morning of conversation and breakfast with your Allegan Fire District Firefighters.  We are proud to be your fire department and honored to share this morning with you and your family.  The cost is a donation\, and a thank you from us to you.

DESCRIPTION:10-6pm Friday & Saturday\, 10-4pm on Sunday\n\nCome join us at the Allegan County Fair Grounds for our 23rd year.  Come shop the 100+vendors\, take a workshop\, see demonstrations of animals including dog herding\, sheep shearing\, and fiber producers such as spinning and weaving. \nLots of fiber animals you may get up close and personal with!  Watch them compete in shows.  You don’t want to miss the costume parade or the obstacle course on Sunday! \nWe have something for everyone\, workshops (held 14th – 17th) with mini-workshops (the weekend) kids activities\, live music\, the ole tractor display\, and the Historical Village!!! (Saturday & Sunday). And don’t miss the fiber competitions. \nCome take a day to learn and enjoy a part of our Michigan heritage!
