DESCRIPTION:Wishbone Wag & Walk is in person in 2022 once again! Our event is being held Sat. Sept 10\, 10am – 2pm\, in Allegan at the Robinson Manor. You’ll be able to walk with fellow dog lovers downtown Allegan across the new sidewalk on the Allegan Iron 2nd Street Bridge to downtown and riverwalk. Merchants downtown will be looking forward to walker to stop by and have their “Walking Card” stamped\, so walkers who get all the merchant stamps and return to the Robinson Manor will be given free extra Raffle Tickets. \nWag & Walk is Wishbone’s annual dog walk event that raises awareness and funds for homeless cats and dogs in Allegan County. Up to 1\,000 animals come through the Allegan Shelter that Wishbone manages daily. This is a fun event for the entire family\, two and four-legged\, to get involved\, support a great organization and make a difference for animals!

DESCRIPTION:Join the Allegan Community Foundation Saturday\, September 24th at Allegan City Hall for a Tuck Pointing and Repointing workshop with Building Restoration LLC. \nIn this hands-on workshop\, you’ll learn techniques to preserve old buildings. In order to preserve history\, we must know how to preserve architecture that surrounds us every day. Understanding pointing and repointing can help restore old buildings to their former glory. Bringing a photo of your concerns is encouraged. Improper tuckpointing can accelerate the buildings deterioration and ruin the historic appearance. \nThis workshop is sponsored by the Allegan County Community Foundation and the City of Allegan. DESCRIPTION:Law enforcement has teamed up with Safe Harbor Children’s Advocacy Center to host their Fourth annual Badges and Bravery 5k. During the Jailbreak race\, civilian racers have a head start and will have the opportunity to run from police after escaping jail. Law enforcement and other first responders need to catch up and “catch” the escapees. \nAfter join us for a chili cookoff between law enforcement\, food trucks and a check out the emergency vehicles on display.  Family fun for all ages! \nSign up now for Safe Harbor’s Jailbreak 5k to run from the cops! Your registration includes sign up fee\, T-shirt\, and a finishing medal. \nRegistration starts at 7:30 on the day of the race. \nAll proceeds from the event will provide a lifeline to victims of child abuse and neglect. If you sign up to run after 9/15/2022 we cannot guarantee there will be a shirt size available\, due to the order being put in that day.
