DESCRIPTION:Join the City of Allegan\, Milbocker & Sons Inc\, Abonmarche\, and special guest speakers for the groundbreaking ceremony of the Downtown Improvement Project on Monday\, March 20 at 11am at the future Trowbridge Plaza between Minnie’s Restaurant and the Regent Arcade Showroom (200 Locust Street).\n\nWork began in 2018 to develop a plan to completely reconstruct the Downtown Allegan core. Over the past four years\, City Councilmembers\, Downtown Development Authority board members\, Public Spaces Commissioners\, and City of Allegan staff have worked to come to a shared vision with public input from Allegan residents\, business owners\, and stakeholders.\n\nThe project scope will address underground utilities and streetscape improvements on Brady\, Locust and Hubbard Streets. SUMMARY:Fundraising Auction for Jana's Mug Club #136
DESCRIPTION:When Jana passed away unexpectedly earlier this year\, she left a giant void in our community. She was an advocate and volunteer for several non-profit organizations. Her and her husband\, Steve\, sponsored and donated selflessly to the community in countless ways. She was also our accountant and friend\, and a lifetime mug club member. We can’t think if a better way to honor her than to auction off her Mug Club Membership and donate the proceeds to Sylvia’s Place (See comments for a link to Sylvia’s Place for more info).\n\nThe auction will begin on April 11th at 3pm and run for one week\, ending on Tax Day (April 18th) at 6pm. The opening bid will be $250. We will also accept donations for Sylvia’s Place to add to the auction proceeds during this time. You can make a bid in person at the Taproom or you can message us directly here with your full name\, phone number and bid. The person with the winning bid will be enrolled in our lifetime mug club and will include a personalized mug. You may also choose to gift the membership if you don’t want it for yourself.

DESCRIPTION:The Allegan Community Players present the 9th Annual One Acts Festival on Saturday April 15 at 2pm and 7pm and Sunday the 16th at 2pm. They will be featuring four one acts this season. Those shows are Mr. Wrong by Scott Mullen\, Video Time by Donald Grant\, In the Dark by Mike Huth and Underneath by Dana Hall. Tickets are $5 and available at the door or online at alleganplayers.ludus.com.\n\nThis show is a fundraiser for the Players and this year we are raising funds for new curtains at the Griswold Auditorium! We will be doing a peoples choice vote each performance where $1= 1 vote. Vote as many times as you would like for your favorite show and the winner will be announced after each show right here!
