DESCRIPTION:During these uncertain times\, Safe Harbor needs support now more than ever. The number of child abuse cases in our community will increase during the COVID-19 pandemic\, and so we ask that you please join us for our Virtual Lifeline Event on Tuesday\, May 26\, at noon. \nOur annual Lifeline event and other fundraising efforts bring in about $80\,000 or 20% of our operating budget. This pays for the necessary services that our grants do not cover. DESCRIPTION:Have you ever bought anything online?  That’s how easy participating in Wings of Hope’s online auction will be! \nThe auction will begin a day or two ahead of Saturday\, May 16th and will end in the later evening on May 16th.  This gives you a lot of time to shop and look at all the items. \nTo get to the auction\, click the link on the Wings of Hope website (www.wingsofhopehospice.com) or go to our Facebook page.  Once there you can register by creating an account with your name and phone number (and credit card if you’d like to pay that way).  Then move on to browsing and bidding. \nBidding is similar to Ebay.  You can either bid the highest amount you want to pay up front\, and it will only increase as people bid against you.  Or you can watch and continue entering bids.  You will be notified by text if you are outbid.  You can also look at your account and see which items you are winning at that moment. \nWhen the auction ends you can pay for the items you have won all at the same time.  Payment can be made with check or credit card. \nHere’s a list of some of the items that have been donated that you will be able to bid on: \n\nWeek stay in UP cabin\nState of the art TV package with accessories\nPatio furniture\nArt\nJewelry\nCertificates to local restaurants\, golf\, skiing\, sporting events\nFish fry for 40\nPig roast for 75\nBBQ dinner for 50\nConcert tickets\nLandscape/garden items\nTimeshare\nAllegan County Fair package\nHealth/beauty items\nBeautiful handmade items\n\nAnd\, as always\, you can also purchase days of care and raffle tickets.  I hope you can join us and support the work of Wings of Hope!

DESCRIPTION:The Cabaret Band Show is the longest-running variety show in Allegan County.  Charging into its 35th year with just as much excitement as it’s first\, Cabaret goers will enjoy a night of high-energy entertainment performed by some of the best musicians in Southwest Michigan. \nHeld in the historic Griswold Auditorium in downtown Allegan\, Michigan\, The Cabaret Band Show has become a beloved family tradition for many over our nearly 40 years in this community.  If 2020 is the year you want to bring family and friends together and offline\, this is your perfect opportunity!  The live band\, comedy\, parody commercials\, and blend of music from the 1950s through the present day offer a little something for everyone. \nMost importantly is the purpose behind this annual event.  Every hand and heart that participates in the multi-weekend show does so to give back to the community. ON THE KINDS OF EXPERIENCES THEY HAVE. \nThis multifaceted project reveals how our country is raising its youngest citizens\, why making the most of this time in their lives is so crucial\, and most importantly\, what we  an do to change the perception of when learning begins. The first major theatrical documentary to tackle this topic\, No Small Matter is designed to kick-start the public conversation about early care and education.

SUMMARY:Grow Mahan Park Presentation
DESCRIPTION:Friends of The Riverfront will host its second public presentation about the upcoming Ballot Proposal 2020-2.  Hosted in the Carnegie Room at the Library. \nThe proposed expansion adds 1500 square feet to Mahan Park and fills in the final stretch of land along the boardwalk. The final design will be developed in consultation with the community and the city council\, and it is the developer’s aim to maintain and refurbish important features\, such as the gazebo and the memorial wall with all the names of the original contributors of Mahan Park\, ensuring that it lasts for decades to come. This relocation and update will allow the park to become handicap accessible and add public restrooms and additional parking. Along the boardwalk\, early designs include a green space for picnics\, memorials\, or public art\, as well as seating for visitors to view the river\, special events\, fireworks\, or just to relax.
