DESCRIPTION: Gun Lake Casino announced that it will be the host of the band Wayland’s hometown concert on July 25\, with doors opening at 7:30 p.m. and performance at 9 p.m. \n“It’s an honor to be playing at Gun Lake Casino because of what they have done to support the community that first embraced our band and gave us the legs that helped us launch worldwide\,” said Phillip Vilenski\, founding member of Wayland. “The energy is always overwhelming when we perform at home in Wayland\, Mich.” \nGun Lake Casino’s Stage 131 features live bands most nights with no cover charge. This will be the third ticketed event held in Stage 131\, and is expected to sell out. \n“Gun Lake Casino is proud to feature many local musicians at Stage 131 each night\,” said Sal Semola\, president and chief operating officer for Gun Lake Casino. “We’re thrilled to bring Wayland back for their Hometown Concert.” \nTickets are on sale in advance at the casino’s Appliques Gift Shop for $10\, or will be available for $15 at the door. Limited VIP booths are also available at various rates.

DESCRIPTION:Proceeds from the 3rd Annual Allegan County Cruise-In benefit the Michigan Youth Opportunities Initiative and Safe Harbor.  The Allegan Area Chamber of Commerce is proud to financially support this event. \nMichigan Youth Opportunities Initiative:\nThe Michigan Youth Opportunities Initiative is a partnership between the Jim Casey Youth Opportunities Initiative and the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services. The program was created to improve outcomes for youths transitioning from foster care to adulthood. It brings together community members\, public and private agencies\, and resources that are critical to enhancing the success of young adults who are transitioning or have transitioned from the foster care system. \nSafe Harbor Children’s Advocacy Center:\nOur vision is a community where all children are safe from abuse and neglect\, where citizens are educated about and dedicated to protecting children. \nSafe Harbor’s Key Values: \n\nChildren have the right to be heard\, nurtured\, protected\, and supported.\nEducation is essential to prevent child abuse and neglect.\nChild abuse affects the entire community and thus requires the entire community to eradicate it.\nDedicated employees and volunteers are valued and are the key to our success.

DESCRIPTION:As Wishbone celebrates its 10th year in operations\, we are also celebrating Our 5th Annual Wag N Walk Dog Walk and new this year YARD SALE. Wishbone Pet Rescue Alliance\, who manages the Allegan County Animal Shelter\, is excited to announce our 5th Annual Wag N’ Walk Dog Walk and YARD SALE\, Saturday August 4th at the Jaycee Park (Dog Park) in downtown Allegan. \nThe Dog Walk goes from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. with the YARD SALE starting at 8am – 2pm. Help us raise awareness and funds for the lost\, homeless and neglected pets of Allegan County. This is going to be a fun event for the entire family\, 2 or 4 legged alike! For $25\, the Dog Walk will include a goody bag with t-shirt and give-aways\, for your 1 mile walk\, a shorter walk for senior dogs and little dogs. There will be dog contests with prizes for best dressed\, shortest legs\, longest ears\, best trick\, to name a few. \nClick here for more information and registration.
