SUMMARY:Joe Kavanagh Scholarship Fundraiser
DESCRIPTION:Four years ago\, Joe died suddenly at age 43. He was passionate about his community and helping others.  To honor his legacy\, this scholarship was established in his name to annually award a scholarship to an Allegan High School senior that exhibits the strength of character Joe embodied. This scholarship has already awarded over $10\,000 to students that are generous\, outgoing\, community-minded\, forward-thinking\, have a sense of humor that engages people\, and welcoming to everyone. \nThis will be the second year we have moved our fundraising efforts online! This is the only fundraiser Team Kavanagh will run this year and everyone coming together to honor Joe and raise money to advance young people to help achieve their dreams is exactly what Joe would do. We sincerely thank you for being a part of this event and hope you take a moment to remember Joe and live by his example…well\, at least some of his examples! \nAnnual Golf Outing:  For those able to participate in the 4th Annual Golf Outing\, it will be held again at Cheshire Hills Golf Course and will be a full 18 holes this year!  Click HERE to register your team. \nLIVE Music Downtown Allegan: Unlike last year\, we are excited to again have a downtown event Saturday night (October 2nd)!  The band\, The Cheap Dates\, will be on the riverfront from 8pm -11pm.  Along with this\, you will be able to enjoy some beverages outdoors thanks to the City of Allegan’s “social district”.  You can purchase a wristband/drink tickets for $20 and meander to your favorite spots for a drink. Participating locations include: The Eagles\, Sherwood’s Cove\, Schaendorf Brewing Co.\, and Tantrick Brewing Co. \nSilent Auction:  (Coming Soon!) We have another amazing online auction this year with items donated by friends and family. DESCRIPTION:Every October\, we’ve enjoyed bringing our community together to talk about the hope and confidence that Sylvia’s Place instills in our clients. So many in our communities donated time\, money\, a beautiful venue\, and countless auction items to help us raise funds to grow and reach more victims. COVID-19 did not allow that to happen in 2020\, and again we are unable to gather safely for Fall Fest in 2021 and celebrate our 25th Anniversary of serving survivors…we could not be more disappointed! \nWe will\, however\, go on with our ‘Fall Fest From Home’ for a second\, and hopefully final\, year. \nParticipants are encouraged to support victims of abuse along with local restaurants by providing a donation to Sylvia’s Place\, ordering in for dinner\, and sharing their experience on social media with #FallFestFromHome!  We were overwhelmed with the response from the community last year\, and despite the continued struggles for many\, hope to repeat the show of support in 2021. \nClick HERE for more information\, sponsorship opportunities\, or to make a donation.

DESCRIPTION:Join Life Pyramid Massage and Riverfront Nutrition as we celebrate their “Grand Openings” with Allegan Area Chamber of Commerce Ribbon Cutting Ceremonies. \nKelly McLean expanded Life Pyramid Massage to include brick and mortar retail space in 2019.  We were set to celebrate that expansion in April of 2020 but her ceremony was one of the first canceled with the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic.  This is long overdue. \nRiverfront Nutrition\, on the other hand\, thundered into Downtown Allegan with free Cardio Drumming Classes at Mahan Park this Summer and opened their shop with Energy Bombs\, Protein Shakes\, and Loaded Coffee in late August.

DESCRIPTION:Halloween Scavenger Hunt \nSunday\, Oct. 31 from 11 am – 6 pm \nJoin us at Allegan Event all day on Halloween for an adventurous indoor scavenger hunt.  Explore while collecting redemption tickets and points to win prizes & candy. \nPlease dress in comfortable\, festive clothing (please don’t wear long or bulky costumes that would interfere with harness fitting and safety) or even better\, get creative and wear a costume from the neck up! \nThis event will take place all day during normal business hours from 11am – 6pm.  Simply choose from any of our regular ticket options by booking online in advance\, or just walk-in for admission the day of the event.  We hope you’ll join us on Oct. 31st!  BwhAAahaaaHaHahaaaaaa! \nBook your tickets online HERE
