Ric & Stan’s Car Wash, along with over 3,300 other car wash locations across the nations will provide FREE car washes to veterans and current military service personnel, under the Grace for Vets FREE Wash Program on Friday, November 11 from 8:00 AM to 7:00 PM. Washes will be given, rain or shine, at Ric & Stan’s Allegan location at 950 Marshall St, and their Otsego location at 920 Dix St. The FREE washes are given to honor and recognize those that have, or are serving, in the United States armed forces.
Grace For Vets was founded by Mike Mountz, former owner of Cloister Wash & Lube, in Ephrata, PA in 2004. Mountz vowed to find a way to honor veterans when he served and saw first-hand amputees and the seriously wounded at the Veterans Hospital in Valley Forge, PA. Several years after opening his first car wash, he started the Grace For Vets FREE Wash Program. With the help of car washes across the country who participate, more and more military servicemen and women are recognized each year through this program.
“This day about honoring and recognizing those whom have served, or are currently serving, to protect our country,” says Eric Brokus, who along with his father Ric owns Ric & Stans. “It really is our favorite day of the year here. We just pray for decent weather: If it rains, people don’t even want a FREE carwash! Last year was a beautiful sunny day and we gave away a lot of free washes! With Veteran’s day being on a Friday this year–typically one of our busier days already–it has the potential to be a really great day to honor veteran’s with a free wash.”
