The Outdoor Education students at Allegan Alternative High School celebrated the completion of their Greenhouse Project with an Allegan Area Chamber of Commerce Ribbon Cutting Ceremony on Thursday, October 4. The students and attending members of the public enjoyed snacks, drinks, and yard games as part of the festivities.
AAHS received a grant to purchase the 6′ x 8′ greenhouse which was designed and constructed by the Outdoor Education class. The greenhouse will be used to start seeds to grow herbs and vegetables for school lunches and for spring planting at the City of Allegan’s Community Garden. Of the greenhouse, AAHS Dean of Students, Aaron Rogers, says, “We are proud of its mini-might.”
Please read Mr. Rogers’ blogpost about the project, Imagining A Greenhouse.
