Holland Michigan Kennel Club Mission Statement:
- The betterment of purebred dogs
- To encourage sportsmanlike conduct and competition at dog shows
- To educate the public in the care, training and breeding of purebred dogs
The Holland Michigan Kennel Club was founded in 1974 by a small group of dedicated purebred dog fanciers interested in establishing an AKC licensed All Breed Kennel Club in the greater Holland area. Some of the things offered:

- Breeder Referral Service
- Monthly Meetings
- Special Activities
HMKC is proud of its rapid growth within the community. As a Non-Profit Organization, the HMKC has contributed to, or organized, the following:
- Obedience Classes
- Nursing Home visits
- Contributions to Michigan State Veterinary College
- Contributor/Member MSU Pure-bred Dog Endowment Fund
- Contributer for Ottawa County Sheriff Dept. Drug Dog Fund
- Contributor to Allegan County Sheriff Dept. Canine Fund
- Allegan County Fairground Building Fund
- American Dog Owners Association
- Ottawa County 4-H Dog Awards Program Contributor
