Located on CR 687 just south of Baseline Rd, the campground’s nearly 50 acres is adjacent to the popular Kal-Haven Bike Trail and less than 15 minutes from South Haven and Lake Michigan.
With 70 sites in total, there are options for all types of campers- from rustic tent sites to pull-through RV sites complete with water and electric hookups, to cozy cabins that sleep 6 – 8 people. The tent sites are tucked into the tree line on the southern side of the property with plenty of space to spread out in the shade. The cabins feature knotty pine tongue and groove planks from floor to ceiling, hand-finished trim, a small refrigerator, microwave, pull out couch and dining table with seating for 6. There is even a fully-furnished house on site with two rental units, for those who prefer to have their creature comforts while still enjoying all the campground has to offer. Both units sleep up to 10 with a full kitchen, wireless internet, air conditioning and a laundry room. They also offer their own private yard with a grill on the back deck and a fire pit.
The entire campground is dog-friendly and boasts a fully modern bath-house. Each campsite has its own fire ring and picnic table, and there are community fire rings and gathering places where campers can enjoy lawn games and socialize. The camp store has snacks, drinks and camping staples like charcoal, firewood, and sunscreen, along with a variety of board games that can be checked out for a rainy day.
Partners Rob Kempton and Scott Whiteford take great pride in having designed and built most of the structures at the campground themselves. What they didn’t create personally, they made sure to source locally whenever possible. It has taken them about a year and a half to transform the property, which was formerly a family farm, to a fully-functional campground.
