We at Whiteford Wealth Management, Inc. serve the communities that we belong to by providing fair and balanced financial advice to all of our clients. We do this by utilizing our deep knowledge of both the international markets and the associated income tax codes that accompany them. While we have a widely varying client base, many of our clients are small business owners just like us. We give impartial advice on an array of challenges facing clients and we aid in overcoming them because we have not only been giving this advice for many years, but we have overcome and continue to strive through similar challenges as well.

We utilize a fairly simple approach to serving our clients’ financial needs in that we purchase assets on their behalf which make economic sense at that point in time in regard to both personal and overall market conditions, and we will never diversify for the sole sake of diversification as many advisors do. With this in mind, we create balanced portfolios that cater to each individual investor. We always strive to create long-term growth in lieu of short-term gains for our clients because tax implications are an integral piece to their overall investment outlook. Our desire to cater to this belief is exemplified by our staff’s educational and credentialed backgrounds as we have two CPAs and a JD on our team.

Ultimately, what our clients desire in their financial advisor is honesty, objectivity, and wisdom of the financial, tax, and legal professions. We offer just that to each and every client in our catered investment approach to serving their needs. Kevin S. Whiteford is the owner and operator of Whiteford Wealth Management, Inc., Whiteford Tax & Financial Ltd. and Whiteford Properties Inc., located in South Haven, Michigan.

Kevin started up his investment and financial planning business and has been licensed with a Series 7 and Series 66 starting in December 1999.  He also received his Series 24 license in December 2009.  Kevin provides services needed to meet the needs of his clients in all areas of their finances by providing various types of investments and life insurance options.  Those include small business retirement plans, individual retirement plans, college funding, individual stocks, bonds and mutual funds.  Kevin utilizes his tax knowledge and international business experience when assisting businesses and individuals meet their retirement investment needs.  Whiteford Wealth Management, Inc. currently serves clients in 16 states who operate businesses all over the country.

Kevin started his career after receiving his B.S. in accounting from Northern Illinois University in 1986 and passed the C.P.A. exam in May of that same year.  Upon completion of his undergraduate degree in accounting, Kevin spent over two years in audit and three years in taxation with a few of the largest accounting firms in the world.  In the fall of 1991, Kevin spent time in industry with a manufacturing company where he was fully in charge of the tax department which did business in 50 states and 33 countries. During his time in industry, Kevin went on to further his education at DePaul University to obtain his M.S.T. (Master of Science in Taxation) and completing it in December 1994.  After industry, Kevin went back into public accounting to take on a position with another large public accounting firm in Chicago, IL to run and operate the firm’s state & local tax department.  In November 1997, Kevin decided to start up a public accounting firm on his own servicing various taxpayers specializing in small businesses and the business owners.  In addition, during the years from June 1997 through December 2001 Kevin taught two courses in the M.S.T. program at DePaul University located in Chicago, IL.  He was the only non-attorney to have done so at the time.  Whiteford Tax & Financial Services, Ltd. currently serves individual and business clients in various states as well.

While Kevin has been busy pursuing his career objectives, he has been active in speaking and performing at various college and high school classrooms and various functions throughout Illinois and Michigan.  Kevin resides in South Haven, Michigan with his wife Mary, their three children, Scott (wife Kary), Alisa and Ken, and granddaughter, Reese all of whom live and are prospering in the State of Michigan as well.
