Renewed Hope Health Clinic Launches Crowdfunding Campaign

Renewed Hope Health Clinic, an Allegan Area Chamber of Commerce member, has partnered with YouCaring Compassionate Crowdfunding to launch a campaign to raise money for the free clinic’s Patient Care Fund.  The goal is to raise 26-thousand dollars by February 29, 2016.

Renewed Hope will keep almost all of the money donated, as the YouCaring Compassionate Crowdfunding site charges only a minimal processing fee.  “Crowd funding works through social media contacts and takes the place of the more traditional mailing campaigns.  It is less expensive since we are not paying for printing or postage”, said Renewed Hope Executive Director, Marcia Beare.  Money raised will go toward the Patient Care Fund to cover expenses not currently covered by grant funding.  Beare said, “We know this is a tremendous challenge, but it will be so wonderful when we reach our goal.”

Renewed Hope Health Clinic was established in June of 2007 to provide free medical and mental health care to patients who are most in need.  The clinic serves uninsured and under-insured adult residents of Allegan County, with income below 200% of the federal poverty guidelines. “Many of our patients find themselves without the ability to afford insurance—even  with the Affordable Care Act—given competing priorities such as utilities, food and shelter”, said Beare.  Currently providing care for close to 2000 patients, Renewed Hope strives to meet the needs of uninsured and under-insured adults living in Allegan County through providing medical, emotional, and spiritual care in a holistic environment by utilizing the skills of volunteer staff and medical personnel.
