Keeping the ceremonial scissors sharp proved to be a full time job the first few weeks of June as three Allegan businesses celebrated with Allegan Area Chamber of Commerce Ribbon Cutting Ceremonies.
The celebrations started on Tuesday, June 2 with a ribbon cutting at Andy’s Ace Hardware to mark the purchase of the store by Andy and Tonya Wesche. This ownership change was the culmination of a plan put in place when Rylee’s bought the store and installed Andy as its manager approximately seven years ago. An already large turnout of well-wishers was made exponentially larger as both fifth grade classes from Dawson Elementary (each with a Wesche child) walked down to join festivities.
The following day, Wednesday, June 3, Saree Miller and Harry Chestnut and the Allegan County Fair Board celebrated the completion of the new livestock barn. The 40,800 square foot barn replaces the one damaged by the heavy snowfall during the record-breaking winter of 2014 and features concrete floors, a state-of-the-art dry fire suppression system, and 12 new restrooms.
A week later, Mr. Electric of Allegan, Ottawa, Van Buren and Kalamazoo Counties celebrated its relocation to 1287 Lincoln Rd.. With over 30 years of experience, owner Nick (and Connie) Grigsby and their staff can handle all of your residential and commercial electrical needs – installation, repair (emergency, and otherwise), everything from basic wiring to solar. Mr. Electric also specializes in Generac standby generators.
Congratulations to all of these businesses as they thrive and grow in Allegan.
