Roger Bird Named Director of The Arc of Allegan County

The Arc of Allegan is pleased to introduce Roger Bird as our new Executive Director. Roger takes over for Stacy Engelsman who spent five-plus years with The Arc and grew the organization in so many ways for the benefit of our clients and friends we serve with developmental and intellectual disabilities. They are fortunate to have Stacy staying with us in a volunteer role continuing to engage in the many recreational activities The Arc offers.

Many of you may already know Roger as he lives in Allegan and has been a part of the Allegan
County Community as Pastor at The Bridge in Allegan for 14 years. He also currently serves as
an Allegan City Council Member. Previously, Roger was Pastor of Children’s and Family
Ministries at Gun Lake Community Church in Wayland, Michigan. Roger had additional
nonprofit experience as Executive Director at Camp Michawana in Hastings, Michigan. He
gained business experience early in his career in advertising and marketing with Real Estate
One and Lease Corporation of America.

Roger will be The Arc’s first full-time Executive Director and he is excited about the opportunity
to continue the mission of The Arc to support people with developmental and intellectual
disabilities. He has a love for all people and his natural inclination is to help people have a
better and more inclusive life. Roger is looking forward to building new relationships for The Arc
throughout Allegan County and to spread the word on all the wonderful support The Arc
provides for people with disabilities.

Please join us in welcoming Roger Bird to The Arc of Allegan County.
