(Wayland, Mich.) – Gun Lake Casino will partner with Michigan Blood to host its third blood drive of the year. The blood drive will be held on Wednesday, June 29, 2016 at the casino in Wayland, Mich.

“Every two seconds, someone needs blood – this means the need for blood never ends. During the summer months or over long holiday weekends, blood donations tend to be low,” said Amy Rotter, community outreach and partner relations coordinator for Michigan Blood. “We appreciate our partnership with Gun Lake Casino, which consistently holds blood drives every two months for their guests. Regular blood drives such as these help us maintain an adequate supply so that blood is always available for people in need.”

The blood drive will take place from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. at the casino’s south entrance. As a special thank you, each donor will receive a certificate for $10 in free slot play, which can be redeemed at the casino’s Rewards Center.

“We’re proud to be able to host blood drives for our guests,” said Brent Arena, vice president and general manager for Gun Lake Casino. “Thanks to Michigan Blood for working with us to make sure donors have a consistent location to donate all year.”

Donors are encouraged to make an appointment by calling 1-866-MIBLOOD or by visiting miblood.org, but walk-ins are welcome. Donors must be at least 21 years old.
